The E-Myth Revisited – Micheal E. Gerber

Pros: very clear and illuminating

Cons: “american” biased approach to business

The first step to healing is getting conscious that you are sick and, well, this book is definitely a good help to start such a recovery path. I’ve read it after the suggestion of a good friend of mine following my request for  an inspiration on how to become an entrepreneur. Or better an effective entrepreneur having suffered many failures since then.

Michael Gerber, the author,  has no need of an introduction but beside this, is really very inspiring; through the book ,that has the structure of a dialog with a client he is helping in restructuring her business, he analyzes all the critical faces of the matter both at personal and at business perspective. The outcome is something similar to an “internal travel” to discover all the weak spots that every human being has, related to the business grow path.

What made this book very fascinating to me is that every assertion of Michael seem very obvious.. but only after you read it! I mean he leads you to become conscious of what is under your nose, maybe a situation or a solution to a problem that, once that is pointed out.. it’s so obvious to you.. how could i have missed it!

Real milestones are the walkings through the entrepreneur’s personalities and the life phases of a business and , on top of that, the working-on-your rather than working-in-your business approach philosophy. Balancing the manager, the technician and the entrepreneur that is inside each of us will be the key to a revolution that will lead to re-born as an “illuminated entrepreneur”.
