With the publication of the MISE Bulletin on 16/12/2019, which came into force on 20 January 2020, important changes have been introduced to Invitalia — Smart & Start benefits.
The program provides incentives to support the birth and growth of innovative startups and finances projects between 100,000 euros and 1.5 million euros. In particular, for startups operating in Abruzzo, the share of the available loan has been increased: under certain conditions it can reach up to 90% of the investment. It has also been increased the non repayable portion of the grant, which now reaches 30% of the loan amount.
Start-ups no longer than 5 years old and teams of individuals, as well as foreign companies that undertake to set up a branch in Italy, can apply for the benefit.
Both investment expenses (plant and machinery, wage costs, expenses in accelerators services, etc.) and company operating expenses (rent, raw materials, leasing, etc.) are eligible.
The projects must have a high technological and innovative content and particular attention will be paid to those in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain.
